This list is for messages about local family-friendly rides and to discuss any family and child cycling related topics.

In season, this group has rides starting in East Hill on the first and third Sundays of each month at 10:00 am (unless weather makes us shift to the second or fourth). The first ride is for little ones and others brand new to riding on the Belle Sherman part of East Hill Recreation Way. The second is a 6-15 mile loop for families, or for anyone looking for a relaxed ride at about 10 mph. Parents generally pull kid trailers on this one so we stay on flatter, lower-traffic roads. Sign up to the email list below or check the online archives for updates on these and any other family ride announcements.


List members are welcome to announce their own rides too. For example, if you know you are going to ride around Cass Park next Friday afternoon with a 7-year old on her own bike, or even would like to organize an overnight tour to a state park, just send a message over the list to invite others. If you announce, people will come. Cycling with other families makes it more fun for both the adults and the kids and, for road rides, makes you more visible to cars. Some of these rides might also be nice for less experienced or more leisurely cyclists to ride socially.
