Hello all,
I am receiving multiple updates on Dana's condition from a friend
nearby Albany, so I am going to post some of them below. His family
also set up a blog to keep others updated here:

Updates:
-------
I am in touch with Dave Benyo, Dana's buddy who rode across the country
with him and also was with Dana when he was hit on the ride two nights
ago. Dave was only scratched up having missed the motorcycle himself by
inches. Dana was hit after that.
He has a number of broken bones but has made progress since two nights
ago. He is still on life support but has improved with BP in the 120s,
pulse in 70s and a much better oxygen saturation. He is still on the
vent but at lower capacity (not sure of terms here).
I will post updates from Dave as I get them. He is sending me text
messages from hospital.
-----
Heard from Dave again. Dana is doing extremely well for the
circumstances. His vital signs and blood tests are all excellent and
showing no problems. The nurses are very impressed with his progress.
Still on the vent, but showing 100% oxygen levels. He opened his left
eye for the first time at 4:30AM. I believe Dave said he was able to
move his right foot a bit on command as well which is a very good sign.
For those interested in visiting, you can go to Albany Medical Center.
Dave said to follow signs for the ER and then when you go in proceed
forward to elevators on the right. He is on the 3rd floor in the
surgical ICU. People can go in and visit 1-2 at a time. Dave said that
have pretty much taken over an entire waiting room for Dana so if you
ask around you should find them. Call Dave's cell phone if you need
assistance getting there, but please use sparingly as he is the main
contact for a lot of people right now. Number is 518-495-5614.
If you want to send things you can contact Albany Medical Center for
information on mailing.
Today is Dana's 28th birthday so when I spoke to Dave they were out
building a bear at the mall. Nice to hear things are good enough to
consider comforts like that.
