Kent,

I have been very happy with www.mapmyride.com.  A key feature for road 
cyclists is the ability to force the route to follow roads.  Not all of 
them allow that, but mapmyride.com does.  If you go there you will find 
some of the public routes I have posted as CyclingBurd.  There are some 
other people putting up routes in our area, too.

The site also creates directions for something approximating a cue 
sheet.  I don't use that feature much but did for the mapping of the 
Tour de Keuka and it worked ok.  I still needed to tweak the directions 
and the ones that came from Microsoft Streets and Trips turned out better.
