Well, if having a bike sign in one's bedroom has ascended to  
coolness, then that is a cool thing by itself.   Highway departments  
should take heart at such disappearances, notwithstanding the  
inconvenience and expense.   The message is getting out.  Bicycling  
is cool.  And consider, a missing bike sign is a lot less scary than  
a missing stop sign or a missing "bridge out" sign.

Could you let the Steuben guys know that I was riding on River Road

bound) yesterday.  On one of the signs, the "share the road" part was
there, but the bicycle sign was gone.
