I was back there. My second ride of the year, and it hurt. The Knee warmers did help Bob, I wish I had taken the gloves!

I rode down Dry Run and got darker and colder. I stopped at Fair Shake ,warmed up my hands a little and rode back to town in the dark. Good ride though, I didn't quit.

There were only five of us, but we managed to get thoroughly
dispersed. Plan was Strouse/Dutch Hill/Dry Run.

Jim and I missed the right turn onto Dry Run and shot straight down
Dutch Hill to Hendy. We need to plan another Dry Run ride again
soon, since it is one of the nicest downhill runs around. Did Tim
and Bobbo do the course as planned? Did they worry so deeply about
us that they climbed back up Dry Run to find us?

At one point about a third of the way into the ride, while I was
struggling hard to hold onto an 18 mph train (admittedly, into a
fierce headwind) I looked back for Andy, hoping for rescue, but
couldn't find him. (Where were you, Andy!?!?). Eventually I dropped
back and rode for a while all by myself, but not before I got to
feeling all dizzy and weird. I bogged down some, but not so much
that Captain Bobbo couldn't slow the proceedings down enough for me
to catch back on at the bottom of the one big hill, and then he was
kind enough to talk me up it. Then more speed, and coming close to
more feeling dizzy and weird, before the missed-turn drop down Dutch
Hill to Hendy. (I forgot my HR monitor, so I don't know if I was
bonking at the end of a long day in the office or just going arhythmic.)

First hard ride of the year for me. We'll see on Sunday's Addison 80
if it made me stronger or just killed me.

Only regret is that I missed the Dry Run turn and didn't get back to
Captain Bobbo's van to see the New Jerseys.
