From the (s)low man on the totem pole:
We had 13 show up for a lovely day's riding.
It may have been a bit more for me to bite off on second ride of the
season than strictly advisable, and we got to the diner too late for
breakfast (I had my heart set on French toast buried in syrup and
butter) but it was still a lot of fun.
Thanks to the Amish pursuitists who dropped back on the Canisteo to
pull me back up, to Blaine and Rick and Mark Hogan who talked me up
some inclines and pulled me along some long stretches of flat into
the wind, but especially to Blaine who treated me to the much needed
root beer float in Bath.
I wasn't quite the last man in, because I took the short way on CR 1
over the mountain, instead of the long way up Curtis Hollow.
The only statistics I have are that we covered the first leg along
the Canisteo at 20 mph, and that after that 24 miles, we covered
another 57 miles, including three trips to the tops of the high ridges.
Legs are feeling much better already. Even managed a (very little)
running.
