Heres something interesting to try if youve got some extra time on your hands
on a snowy night. We"ve all heard and studied to some extent how a bicycle
should fit and the angles of the knees and such. Two nights ago while watching
the tour I was noticing how the pros bikes fit and it is impossible to see
while there riding. I taped the last 10 minutes and began to slow and freeze the
pics and guess what. They arent even close to the same fit. I really didnt find
any two riders whos legs were at the same angle and reach as each other. not
to mention rider position as far as reach to the bars and such. Is it really
even possible to fit a bike without a way to measure power output and such.
I realize there is a general fit for recreational cyclist to start from
but how much would one of us weekend warriors benefit from a full on
professional bike fit. These are quite expensive but would money be wiser spent in this
direction rather than the newest piece of carbon fiber? We"re all comfortable
on our bikes, we spend countless hours on them but could a couple of
millimeters here and there really make a huge difference.
Has anyone ever had this done and how much difference did it make.
