Blumenauer Calls for National Movement 

Congressman Earl Blumenauer (D-OR) <http://blumenauer.house.gov/>  inspired a large crowd at The Bike  <http://www.bikegallery.com/> Gallery in Portland, Ore. according to BikePortland.org <http://www.bikeportland.org> . "Blumenauer rallied the troops and spoke of the critical importance of a 'citizen infrastructure...the people who've decided that they're going to make a difference.' Blumenauer wants to, 'make the cycling community a powerful political force.' He said that if one million 'cycling fanatics' around the country could get together than it would have 'a transformational effect on politics.'" Blumenauer will continue to rally cyclists about the importance of a national strategy at the National Bike  <http://www.bikeleague.org/conferences/summit08/index.php> Summit.

Transportation Heavyweights to Address National Bike Summit 


Horsley, Millar, Adams Among Speakers 

The heads of two of the most powerful transportation groups in Washington, D.C. will give their perspective on the future of transportation policy and finance in the Wednesday morning plenary session at the National Bike Summit.
