Paul,

Will Deb be doing any Tarot card readings Saturday evening as well?

60 days in Egypt; I could use a nice evening like that. I doubt that I
will be home by Saturday.

Cheers,

Don

Lula and I are on board.

We may need to reserves space in van for tandem to get tandem back to
Elmira whenever you return. If so we may be able to return at least
one rider and bike in addition to ourselves in car Saturday night,
possibly two riders and bikes if I throw a rack on back. We'll shuttle
a car up before hand. Let me know if you need a shuttle help for the
van.

By now many of you have seen me blow past you on my big red tandem, a
big grin on my face, and, trust me, I hear you saying, " He ain't so
bad, he couldn't ride like that without Deb on the back making that
thing go". (and you're right ! ) Then you think to yourself, " What's
that chic all about anyway, I heard she has a cafe or something like
that, and the leftover goodies she shares are out of this world, what
makes her tick, hmmm ?" Well, here's your big chance to find out ! This
Saturday from 5:00 until 8:00 Deb's place, the Gristmill Cafe, in
Burdett is open for one of her famous seafood dinners. And let me tell
ya, I can't stop drooling from all the ideas she's flown by me ! I
believe the final choices are baked fish fry or a shrimp dish that I
couldn't do justice to if I tried to describe it here, but it made me
say, "oh, baby, don't stop, tell me more". So she went on about home
made ice cream and a hummingbird cake dessert she's making, and, well I
can't tell you any more because I passed out, fainted dead away from
overload ! She had to wave a fresh baked scone under my nose to bring me
back around !

There will be a couple locals playing ol' tyme music to get your feet
stompin'. You can bring your own beer or wine if you like ( Deb
encourages it ! ) and, shucks, when the bottles are empty you can join
along with the musicians ! Sit inside or out, the front porch is perfect
for watching the cars roll by, very Mayberry, or sit on the back deck
and listen to the birds and water going over the falls ( actually, the
birds don't go over the falls, just the water does )

So my big idea is to ride to Burdett from the shop at 3:30 this
Saturday. I'm thinking Ridge Rd to Odessa then Texas Hollow and drop
down to Burdett. It's just about 30 miles. A nice gentle pace, just
enough to work up an appetite. Arrive around 5:30 (unless Texas Hollow
has other plans for us) and commence to having a good ol' time in
Burdett !

Since this is a one way ride we'd need to coordinate with some non
riding SOs to meet there for rides home. Try the ol'," I'll buy you
dinner if you do, Honey", that should do the trick. I can put bikes in
my van and drop them off later or something like that. Or just drive up
and eat, your riding buddies won't bust on you too bad, right ? :p

Sounds fun, huh ? And keep in mind, Deb's motto about her food, which
she's passionate about, is, " it's delicious and nutritious !!" And
she's right !!
