FLCC> Cayutaville time trial debute

[Graceful Gardens, Mark and Amanda Shenstone]

To all, the Cayutaville  time trial starts just beyond the intersection of  Chapman rd. and Cty Rt. 6.  We will try to mark the start and turn around spot before Thursday night.  Time trial starts at 6:00 PM.  For those coming from Ithaca, there is a commuter parking lot in Mecklenburg just beyond the start of Cty Rt 6. Traveling south about 3 miles on Rt 6 takes you to the start of the time trial. Course has been measured at an out and back 10 miles.  Hope to see someone break Andy's record this week!

ps Rt 6 is also known as Mcintyre rd. (just beyond the Mecklenburg store)

  Is this happening tomorrow at 6pm?  Andy M.'s note has the location as "Chapman Road and Mcintyre road in Cayutaville."  Is this correct?  Is there a landmark or parking location for the start?

    Last night a few of us decided to do a 10 mile time trial on county Rt 6 over here on the West side.  It is an out and back course with some rollers and goes through the tiny hamlet of Cayutaville.  Andy M. checked the course on his GPS for accurate distance and we only encountered one car over the whole distance.  Andy set the benchmark  time of 23 minutes plus change (you have to ask Andy for the exact time ) and  Amanda and I and Lilynn were all under 30 minutes (you have to ask us for exact times). We finished the time trial just as the heavens opened and the lightning was not far behind. Spent a good deal of time confessing our sins at the Cayutaville church hiding under an overhang  praying to be allowed to ride home.
    We hope to do this time trial on a regular basis so stay tuned.  This is not an attempt to turn people away from the Coddington course, but an alternative for  those of us who can't find the time to drive through Ithaca every night of the week.
    Hope to see lots of you at the Owasco Flyer on Sunday!
