Today, friends, my feet got wet.

Not only because of sweat.

Woe and misery.

More to the point, those of you who have been enjoying the lack of
traffic on Old 76, and the practically designed-for-cyclists barriers,
should be advised that this fairy tale world has been violently
destroyed. Today, heading towards Brooktondale on Old 76 I discovered
(as maybe some of you all ready have), that the little piece of missing
pavement has been slightly expanded. I managed to continue past the
closed segment of road. However, this time it involved scrambling,
flowing water, descending, and climbing. Barefoot.
The one saving grace was the thrilling image of leaning my 700 C Conti
tire up against the er... 3,000 Z Conti tire on the front end loader...
The other saving grace was that I actually enjoyed walking through the
stream, and getting my feet muddy; nonetheless, be aware that the
no-dismount strategy is no longer an option.
