Cycling

Veteran cyclist Glenn Swan, from Freeville, had a 
strong performance in the 10-mile time trial, 
finishing seventh out of 55 competitors in the 
course at Hamlin Beach. His time was 23:10.

Jay Joslyn of Grand Island (Western) won gold, 
finishing the 10 miles in 22:00.

Lansing's Joseph Bailey finished 49th (25:38.6).

In masters cycling, Ithaca's Mariano Garcia won a 
silver medal in the time trial for ages 35-44, 
finishing in 22:44.6. Ithaca's Ernie Bayles just 
missed out ona medal in the age 45-54 time trial 
category, finishing fourth in 23:45.8, 10 seconds 
out of third.
