Much thanks to Matt for putting on an excellent event.  The course  
was big fun.  "Road folks" could motor on the grass, pavement and  
"wide trail" sections.  "Off road folks" could motor on the very  
challenging single track section.  The micro-creek crossing and "pick  
one" fork-in-the-trail were cool elements.

I have been having some close racing with Dave Faso recently, and I  
thought that might continue yesterday, but he was spanking me by a  
good minute.  Bad luck hit and I saw him in the pits putting on a new  
back wheel.  He still got 5th.

I came within 10 seconds of 3rd, but Mark Williams was a bit stronger.

Andy waxed all us old guys, and rode the single track like a pro.   
Greg Drum was a solid second.

Mark Shenstone and I decided to do the open men's race as well.  I  
had gone all out in the Masters but, with my improving fitness, felt  
I could finish a second event.

I was dead last half a lap into the open men's race, but steadily  
kept what power I had to the ground, and gradually moved up.  I  
started to cramp on the last lap, but kept it rolling for 16th.

Ithaca was well represented:  Jeremy, Scott, John, Maria, Anna,  
Rhainnon, Shan, Rob, Nick, Matt, Emanuel, Mark, and Andy.
