This should be a good gathering. I can think of several folks on this
list who would be good "do-it-yourself" mentors or who might want to
hear about progress on projects, or pose issues & make new connections.
Plus, the potlucks have been *amazing*. Hope to see some of you there. -

SUSTAINABILITY IN MOTION: GREEN TRANSPORT
Sustainable Tompkins Community Gathering Thu Sept 14 6:00-8:30 PM

Sustainable Tompkins invites you to our monthly networking and learning
gathering on Thursday, September 14th from 6:00 to 8:30pm at the
Cooperative Extension on 615 Willow Ave. We'll begin with a potluck
dinner - hopefully including many locally grown and produced foods- and
informal networking to share our own interests and challenges with
sustainability in transportation.

Doesn't it cost more and take more time to "go green" when getting
around? What about safety? How does car sharing work? What's the
connection between transportation and land use? Hear about local efforts
to support sustainable transportation with a panel of your neighbors,
government officials, and innovators and entrepreneurs. There will be an
opportunity to connect one-on-one and in small groups with organized
initiatives, contribute directly to their work, and get inspired with
do-it-yourself ideas for all kinds of local and regional mobility. The
Cayuga Waterfront Trail, TCAT, Curb Your Car Coalition, Ithaca Car
Share, Recycle Ithaca's Bicycles, Cornell Transportation, and others
will be there to facilitate discussion and contribute to identifying
possible and existing solutions to local issues. Please join us and
invite a friend or two!
