FLCCers,
This Sunday's ride has some new bits in it to provide some novelty for
the veterans. There will be shady lanes, sources of good food, exciting
descents, some pesky gravel, and some incredibly great views. That's
only if you come and do the ride, so do come. The weather promises to be
partly sunny and a bit cool -- i.e., perfect.
The ride is Texas Hollow - Connecticut Hill. A new cue sheet (with PDF
maps) is on the club website:
http://www.flcycling.org/flcc/touring/rides/cuesheet/texasconnhill.htm
It's about 47 miles with 3900' of climbing.
There is a short option available for those who need it -- meet in
Mecklenburg at the little parking area on NY 228 south. Pick up the main
route from that point -- up Turnpike Rd, to 79, etc. To return, don't
take the turn on Chapman but continue on CR 6 to Mecklenburg. (You'll
need to turn left on the last road before the village, Kelsey, because
the bridge is out.) About 26 miles.
Meet at 10:00 am on West Hill at the Tompkins County Professional
Buildings parking area just past the entrance to the hospital on NY 96
north.
