Hi,
I'm looking for a volunteer to serve in a sweep capacity for a 28-mile,
moderately paced, rolling hills cycling tour of Green Buildings on Sat, Oct
7 from roughly 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Jon Harrod, a building performance consultant with Performance Systems
Contracting, has volunteered to lead the tour. The tour will begin at
EcoVillage and from there travel to a home powered by wind and heated with
a geothermal system. It will then travel to another timber-framed, straw
bale home that demonstrates building with local and natural materials
before returning to EcoVillage. The group will stop for lunch en
route. The group will be limited to 8 riders.
I'm seeking a volunteer who'd like to participate as a co-leader that would
be able to assist with mechanicals (most likely flats) that arise and/or
stay back with anyone who's pace might be slower than the group's.
Please contact me at tms23 at cornell.edu if you can assist! I'll be happy to
fill you in on details.
If you're interested in joining the tour but not volunteering as a tour
leader, you can also email me at tms23 at cornell.edu. Fee for participating
will be $5. This cycling tour is part of the Green Buildings Open House,
an annual event that occurs across the Northeast. More info at
www.nesea.org/buildings/openhouse.
Thanks!
Tania
