That's right...I intentionally stayed behind Anna and Jason so that
we wouldn't get rear-ended...yeah, that's it. I knew there was a
reason, other than my wet noodle legs! As happened a few weeks ago
on the Brooktondale course, I wasted myself on the break for far too
long and didn't have enough gas to pull through to the end. Congrats
to Anna and Jason for overcoming their wrong turn and recovering to win.
Thanks to the C-group for a great introduction to racing this
summer. I still have plenty to learn about how to maintain breaks to
the end, when to sprint, and how to body check, but Tuesday nights
taught me a ton about group riding and racing. I too look forward to
next spring.
