Thank you for the message, Paul.  I didn't know John all that well, only
met him a few times, but he always seemed like a friendly, good-natured,
and all-around good guy.  His reputation backed that up.

He was also one Hell of a racer.  The few times I raced against him I
learned to fear him like I feared few others on the race course.

My sympathies go out to his family and friends, especially his wife and
children.  He was way too young to go.
