GREEN BUILDINGS CYCLING TOUR
SAT, OCT 7 2006, 9 am to 3 pm
A bicycle tour led by building performance consultant Jon Harrod and
Andrejs Ozolins of the Finger Lakes Cycling Club will cover 28 miles of
rolling terrain at a moderate pace and visit three sites that provide
inspiring examples of sustainable living. Space is limited and
pre-registration required. $5 fee. Please call 607-272-2292 to
register. Tour departs from and returns to EcoVillage. Bring a sack lunch
and water and dress for the weather. Must be 18 years of age. Helmet
required. Organized by the Ithaca Green Building Alliance and Cornell
Cooperative Extension of Tompkins County.

SAT, OCT 7, 2006, 10 am to 4 pm
See firsthand how energy efficiency, renewable energy, and green building
practices are at work in Tompkins and surrounding counties. Homeowners and
building managers will be on site to answer questions and describe features
- such as passive solar design, photovoltaics, wind power, salvaged and
non-toxic building materials, straw bale construction, timber framing,
masonry stoves, and more. Members of the public can do a self-guided tour
between 10 am and 4 pm. Visit the Northeast Sustainable Energy Association

directions or request a brochure from Cooperative Extension at
607-272-2292. Organized by the Ithaca Green Building Alliance and Cornell
Cooperative Extension in conjunction with the Northeast Sustainable Energy
Association's Green Buildings Open House and the American Solar Energy
Society's National Solar Tour.
