FLCC> Binghamton Circuit Race - A Day in the Wheels

I did 2 races last Sunday, at TVC's Binghamton Circuit Race at
Kirkwood Industrial Park. With the 4 race being 24 miles and the
2/3/35+ race being 30 miles, I was looking at a total of 54 miles of
racing. Since I ran out of endurance last Sunday at 37 miles, I knew
I would have to spend the day "in the wheels" (out of the wind) to
have a good chance at finishing both events with the field.

This would be easier riding than last week, with larger fields, more
shelter, and time to rest between races. I rode conservatively in
the 4 race, making only 2 hard efforts: a short appearance at the
front (up the hill) with 3 laps to go, and lending a hand to Charles
and Matt in the final, to deliver them in good position with 250
meters to go.

Fortunately for me, the 2/3/35+ race did not have any crunch points
until the very end. My legs felt soft the whole way, but were not
squeezed until 4 laps to go, when I was hitting my endurance limit.
With 1 mile to go, the field split into 4 groups. I gave it
everything I had left, and ended up in the 3rd group.

I was happy to go the distance. My body continues to respond. If
the weather is good next Sunday, I'll try for 2 laps at Hollenbecks.
