I participated in the Cayuga Lake Triathlon this past Sunday as part of
a relay team with my neighbors. Having been a part of stage race
organizing
in the distant past, I can attest to the fact that the triathlon
logistics
seemed mind-boggling. Still, from my perspective, it was an incredibly
well-run event. The course was challenging and well-marked. There was
an army of helpful volunteers in orange t-shirts who gave up their day
to
make the race safe and fun for nearly everyone, including (but I'm sure
not
limited to) FLCC locals like Sara, Glenn, and Mark and Amanda Shenstone.

Many thanks to them! The weather was beatiful (is Dave in cahoots with
the Ithaca Triahtlon club??), and Taughannock park is a great place to
relax afterwards with the family.

One of the few downsides is a hefty entry fee, but I understand that a
considerable portion of it goes to a local cancer charity. And some of
it no doubt was a kickback to Dave for the weather arrangements! So I
would say that it was all money well spent.

Hope you all had a nice weekend also.
