Here is a last-ditch notice to remind folks about the Snowfest being put on
by the Cayuga Nordic Ski Club tomorrow at Hammond Hill, from 10:30 AM to
3:00 PM. Activities center around the Hammond Hilton (the cabin on the
Leonards' property across from the Town of Dryden parking lot on Hammond
Hill Road-where the snow plow turns around). Ski lessons, ski technique
demos, equipment demos, nature tours by the DEC, ski-joring (skiers being
dragged around by dogs), orienteering for kids, snow sculpture, and races
(little kids, big kids, and elite racers doing a sprint relay) are among the
activities. I have probably forgotten something. Oh yeah, eating! There
will be snacks donated by generous volunteers.

Snowfest is free, but if you can, please bring a dollar or two to throw into
our donation pot to help offset our costs-which reminds me, there will be a
port-a-potty on site.

Accuweather says it will be about 4 degrees at 10 tomorrow morning and the
"realfeel" will be about -18, so make sure you dress yourself and your kids
accordingly. The wood stove in the Hammond Hilton will be fired up, but
space in there is limited.

Check out details at www.lightlink.com/xcskiers/.

Come on out!

Jack
