As many of you know, my employee of the last few years, Danny Timmerman,
has moved into the ranks of professional bicycle racing. This obviously
means I will not have him working for me this season. I need to find
someone to manage my bicycle shop for the coming spring and summer (and
perhaps beyond).
If you are experienced at sales and mechanics and motivated to work in a
demanding and busy (and invigorating) bike shop environment, and you will
be staying in Ithaca for the summer, I want to talk to you. The regular
bike shop hours are in the evening, but assembly and repair times during
the day are very flexible, making the job a good fit for someone who has a
variable training schedule, or has other variable demands in their daily life.
Pay is dependent upon skills, but is substantially higher than most bike
shops - however the intensity of the bike shop means it's no lazy bike
bum's easy paycheck, and it's no place for someone who doesn't have clearly
established skills. If you are interested and think you have those skills,
let's talk and give you some test-work to do and find out if it's the job
you want for the summer.
Contact me in the evenings at (607) 277-0495 or by email at
Swancycles at aol.com.
