FLCC> Swandrome ski conditions

To the xc skiers dying for a chance to get out on local snow:

Conditions at the Swandrome are not yet skiable, but we are getting pretty 
close. As of this morning (Friday) we have a couple of inches of powder on 
a base of grass and semi-frozen mud. I know if I run the skate groomer over 
this stuff it will merely scrape the snow off and shear off the tops of any 
muddy bumps in the trails, leaving an unskiable and ugly base, so my plan 
is to roll the trails to try to consolidate what snow that we have into 
some kind of base that might soon be skiable with the little bit of powder 
predicted for the next few days. With some of the lower areas still quite 
wet, I am not expecting to produce nice skiable conditions right away, but 
we can hope...  At least the trails are pretty smooth and rock-free, so it 
won't take much snow for them to be usable.

I will post to the various lists as soon as it is good enough to warrant 
the effort to load the car and drive up the hill.
