FLCC> looking for used bikes

As usually happens at this time of year, several triathlon classes are
starting up. Since this is an introduction to cycling for some of the
participants, and a first test of whether they will enjoy cycling, several
of them come to me (and I am sure the other bike shops) looking for cheap
used bikes that they can buy or rent for the semester. At the moment, the
only used bikes I have in my bike shop are really tall (about 60cm) so I
have nothing to offer more normal sized people and small women.
Does anybody have used road bikes they want to sell, rent, or loan out
? All they need to be is reasonably functional (I can help beyond that)
and no more than a few hundred dollars. 10-speed index shifters are not
required....heck, an old 10-speed will do...

I'll act as a clearing house if you like. I can be reached at
gs37 at cornell.edu or as Swancycles at aol.com. If you want to deal directly
(almost) with Al Gantert, the teacher of some of the tri-classes, his
secretary is at par2 at cornell.edu.

The first two people to contact me looking for bikes in the last few days
have been looking for bikes in the 49-52cm range.

Any help ?

Glenn Swan
