My current pick would be Lake Placid. Excellent cycling- although certainly
not flat the roads aren't super hilly either. They seem to be a lot of
longish but reasonable grades. And, as I just found out this past weekend,
there is some truly excellent, and family friendly is you pack a lunch and
do day-hikes, hiking in the high peaks wilderness just south of Placid.
Peaks such as TableTop and Phelps are within a morning's round trip hike
from the Adirondack Loj tailhead.
Camping in the high peaks isn't for everyone, as all you get is a patch of
ground or the occasional lean-to, but there are other spots in the general
area that aren't so neolithically apportioned.

Hi All,
My family and I would like to do a vacation: camping, road biking, hiking.
We tend to be in the leisure groups. Any ideas for good places to go. I
would say we want to stay within about a 6 hour drive or so.
Thanks,
Ron Acerra
