Ouch...sounds painful (kinda like a cheese grater). I cross the steel
bridge on Clinton St. by IPD twice each day on my commute to Cornell (road
bike). The wet crossings usually happen on my way home (going down the
hill) after or during an afternoon rain. I slow down to a creep, then get
off the brakes (I don't touch them till I'm off). At the very best, it's
a controlled slide all the way across...a real balancing act cause the
rear tire wants to slide out. It might help to drag the rear brake
slightly (don't remember if I've tried that yet). Bottom line is if I
think of it soon enough, I take a different route in wet weather.
