Mike, you are a lucky SOB- that's a great gig up there at Swan Cycles (if
you like chaos).

FLCCers, I will take this as an opportunity to comment on Mike's
predecessor, Dan Timmerman. I watched Dan in the Commerce Bank Philly race,
yesterday. I watched from the Manayunk Wall, which was about 3/4 mile at
around 16%. Dan and I figured that it was equivalent to Blakesly. The
biggest difference that I could see between this wall and Ithaca climbs was
the tens of thousands of drunken screaming fans and the four helicopters
providing live TV coverage.

Despite a pretty obvious chest cold (Dan couldn't go more than about a
minute without hacking), Dan covered attacks and helped drive the race,
through many crashes, to a record breaking average speed for about 125 of
the 156 miles. In doing so, Dan supported his teammate Dominique
Rollin along his ride to 5th place before calling it a day.

If anyone would like to see some photos, I have a few good shots of the
Timmerman that we've all watched ride away from us on Tuesday nights. Just
send me an email and I'll send them to you.

Dan now heads to Canada with Kodak/Sierra Nevada, where I understand he'll
be riding alongside Trevor Connor at the Tour of Beauce. Here's to Ithaca
cycling!
