I was happy to see a large group in Cortland for the
Taylor Valley ride yesterday. It was also nice to see
the orderly dichotomous split orchestrated by Andrejs
as opposed to the chaotic, "everyman (and woman) for
himself" splintering that usually takes place. About
a mile into the ride, the leisurely riders took off in
another direction and the rest of us, Mark Sorrels,
me, Chris Ogden, Shauna, Marylin, Chris (the big black
bag Chris), Gary Hodges and One other rider, stayed
together the whole way (mostly). Occasionally some of
us would go off on a fitness interval for several
miles, but we'd all meet up at the intersections.
And, I don't have to tell you that the ride was
spectacular. We are indeed blessed to live and ride
here. Afterward, some of us stopped off at Dougs Fish
Fry for lunch. It doesn't get any better, except for
Ryan Morris staying away from the pack on his time
trial bike at Owasco. That's priceless. Wayne
