FLCC> Black Flies Early June - Problem or No ?

Don't remember ever having a problem with blackflies here in the
Finger Lakes. What we do have is horseflies and deerflies, which
like to take good sized chunks of meat out of slow moving mammals,
especially when sweatily climbing hills, right through the lycra.

Best strategy is to just keep moving, quick as you can.

Are you playing in or listening to the concert? Which one?

Greetings,

My wife and I will be in Ithaca for a concert the first week of June
and hope to add some road and mountain biking to the mix. I know
black flies can be a concern at many places in the region, so I was
wondering if they would preclude or limit any road or mountain biking
during that time frame.

Realizing the answer is somewhat dependent on how the spring weather
plays out....

Thanks in advance, and looking forward ot the visit, black flies or
not..
