There were an equal or greater number of FLCC than OCC members in
attendance today, and it was fun and interesting to ride with new
faces. Two really strong climbers who dropped everyone; a 30 something
female who rode with the front; and thankfully because Eric W. and
Marcello P. did not show, a big guy to tow the group when we were headed
into a 20+ mph wind.
Public apology to Eddie: he pulled the big guy and me from the 41A/41
junction all the way to 281, 3 miles from the parking lot 58 miles into
the ride. As we turned left onto 281 directly into the wind, the big
guy took off. I was able to grab his wheel, but Eddie did not notice
the "break." So I had one of those crises of conscience. Should I wait
for my teammate or suck wheel behind a truck? Guess which? Hint: as
what may be expected and not what Jochen would have done :-)
I'm sure there will be pay back...

according to Runstoppable, 61.8 mi, 3409 ft. of elevation. That's
55 fpm,
well up into the SH range, not R-H as it's described.
