FLCC> jury-rigged mallets

sad as i am we never managed a spring match, i am hard at work getting
polo going in pittsburgh, pa! now all we need are mallets...

i can't remember how those original jury-rigged mallets were constructed.
were the shafts plastic? and fitted into about 2" dia plastic pvc
pipe...drilled twice for the shaft i think. i can't remember what the
shafts were made out of.

they worked pretty well though. if anyone remembers and can pass along the
info it'd be great! thanks!
