Brian Klotz my faithful teammate reported how tough the Cascadillia
Hill climb was this weekend. He was wrecked by FLCC member Donal
Fitterer and lost some skin on his elbows, but he did not have to
compete in the toughest of all brackets, a bracket that strikes fear
into the hearts of most racers, the family bracket. Again this year I
had the honor of representing BHV with my son Garrett. The lengths
that FLCC members will go to win this bracket are incredible. Puling
my tandem out of the van I noticed we had not one but two broken
spokes. I have no evidence but.......... We raced on the wheel
anyway. The Monkman's fed their son enough Resse's pieces to end up
being sponsored by Resses. Hobbitt Lefaye in a case of reverse doping
forgot to give her son his daily medication in the hope of harnessing
his hyperactivity. Sad so sad. Current pink slipper winner Ernie
Bayles and daughter were see wearing feather boas hoping to cause fits
of laughter. Worse of all in a blatant foul LiLynn Graves faked her
way into the completion with a completely bogus pregnancy. She then
held onto the back of my tandem during my race tiring me for the final
against the Schlenks

I have the proof http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hEZHgVFWnNg

Against these incredible odds Garrett and I were able to climb to a
respectable second place.

I will count our stage victory over current Pink slipper winner Ernie
Bayes and his daughter as one of the greatest moments in our racing
career. Years from now, when Phill Liggett show the montage pictures
of Garrett's career as he stands on a step higher then Luke Armstrong
in Paris, that this was the day Garrett's racing career truly began.

How tough is this event you ask? I think my placing 22nd in the
masters cross race on Sunday shows we gave it our all. BTW 22nd was
good enough to once again beat Ernie Bayles who ended up dnf because
of a mechanical.

Next year begins now. Garret and I have started our training.
