FLCC> Hollenbecks Spring Classic Road Race

Hi FLCC,

It's that time of year again! The Hollenbeck Spring Classic Road Race 
is happening on Sunday, May 4. I am starting my search for volunteers 
so please email me your availability and desired job if interested.

The club is throwing a dinner for all volunteers on Sunday, April 27 
where I will explain the duties of each group and go over logistics. 
I received a lot of positive feedback about this pre-race meeting 
last year so we're going to continue it again.

The different groups are as follows:

-Registration (10 people)
-Chief Volunteer (Marcia Swan!)
-Computer Operators (Mark R will be one I hope and he'll need an assistant)
-Corner Marshals (We hope a sorority is helping with most positions, 
but I'll need 3-4 others)
-Pace Cars/Wheel vans (14 people)
-Sign set-up and tear down (2 people - Don and Ernie?)
-Finish line recorders (6-8 people)
-Video for the finish (1 person)
-Food and Drink (Shenstones?)

Organized sweep of the course will likely happen close to race day, 
details to follow.

I hope to hear from all past volunteers who have graciously given so 
much of their time over the years. We really can't do this race 
without you! Also please talk to your friends and relatives and see 
if they would like to come watch an exciting event, plus help a local 
club for a few hours on what promises to be a beautiful Sunday morning.

FLCC's Hollenbeck Spring Classic Road Race in Virgil, NY is happening 
again this year on Sunday, May 4. Proceeds from the race will be 
donated to a local charity and will be used to support junior riders 
in our community.

In addition to the historic road course and famous cookies, we are 
giving a $15.00 return of entry fee to the first three places in each 
category. Cat 1/2/3 men will race 3 laps of the 22 mile course, 3/4 
men and 1/2/3 women will race 2 laps, while 5 men, 4 women, master 
35+, juniors, and tandem will race 1 lap. There is a separate field 
for Cat 5 men this season.

Pre-register by going to

will also be offered on the day of the race for $15.00. Juniors will 
race for $10.00. This event is a part of the 2008 Lance Armstrong 
Junior Olympic Race Series.
