I bought a Wike trailer about five years ago and have not regretted it.

It is a great combination of features, durability and good value.

About which method of child carrying is best, there are pluses and
minuses to all of them. I can tell you that my kids like to ride
in the trailer, even if the view is not as good as up top. My sense
is that cars give me a wider berth and are more careful around me
than when I am alone. And if there was to be an accident, the kids
are close to the ground and shielded a bit. Also the trailer keeps them
shaded and protects them from bugs and rain.

You can also use the trailer to pack a fair amount of stuff, like
if you want to go the grocery store, run errands, or use it as a
base camp at crowded events where you have to park your car far away.

Just my 2 cents!
