Given my schedule, I often travel in January, and sometimes I take my
bike. This year, on something of a lark, I tried out a bike camp,
specifically "Cycling Camp San Diego" http://www.cyclingcampsandiego.com/
. This time of year their emphasis is very much on "base miles" -- that
is, you keep your heart rate moderate and you ride quite a bit to build
endurance. I thoroughly enjoyed the camp -- it is run by some of the
nicest and most capable cyclists I've ever met and they ride on a bunch of
great roads in a very scenic area. It is also a great value. I won't go on
here, but I'd be happy to answer questions and I encourage interested
people to check out their web site. They'll be running some road training
camps later this year.

| "What do you mean why?" |
