Hi!
I just returned from a WET ride to T'burg with a group of six riders,
and they told me about this list. Someone noted a write-up on the
Texas Hollow ride last week, and my two flat tires.
After reading the article, I need to clarify one thing: It was NOT
Gary at the Bike Rack that proclaimed the original tires on the
Raleigh were OK (My mistake, I gave John the wrong first name). It
was Glenn Swan! In Glenn's defense, I did get about 250 miles on the
tires (these were no doubt the tires that originally came with the
bike) before last Sunday, and they probably would have done better if
I had 100 psi pressure in them at the start of the ride instead of
only 80 psi...rookie mistake. The pothole on Iradell was so bad...so
bad that it bent the wheel slightly.
Anyway, thanks to all that helped me back on the road last
week. Talk about a quick pit crew! I now have new tires, and know
how to use the tire changing levers I bought!
Thanks again,
Randy Olson
