Holly,

In two words: Tim Russert!

It turns out there is no good non-invasive method recognized for determining
whether or not someone is likely to have a heart attack. For 25% of people
who die from heart attacks, the first "symptom" is "instant death." And
yet many Americans-perhaps most-do not realize that simply by eating a
vegetarian diet and getting and keeping total cholesterol down below 150
mg/dL, they will not develop heart disease. This group doesn't need any
fancy testing and needn't fret about falling victim to this no. 1 cause of
death in this country.

I'm looking to see whether the pulse oximeter can be used as a poor man's
diagnostic tool to assess cardiovascular health AND whether vegetarians do
indeed have better biometrics as theory suggests that they should.

Hi John,

If I may ask a question, why so much focus on O2 saturation?
