As Mark Rishniw has been pointing out, this coming Saturday (June 7) is the
New York State Senior Games. This may not seem to be particularly relevant
to most of you, since to participate, you must be at least 50 years old...

  BUT

For this event (actually two TT's and a RR) to happen, we need volunteers
to marshal corners, help start riders and take their times at the finish
lines, provide wheel support, etc.

I know some of you are planning to do the Balloon Fest RR in Cambridge on
Saturday. I know it is more fun to race than to volunteer. I know many of
you have families and occasionally "have a life" outside of cycling. But
for this event to happen we need some people to step up and volunteer to help.

TO THAT END

As a team sponsor, and one who wishes to promote our team's turnout for
classic longstanding local events, I will pay the entry fees of any Cookies
Team members who wish to ride the LakeFest RR in Whitney Point on Sunday,
if they volunteer at the ESG Senior Games qualifier. That way, you have an
excuse for not racing on Saturday ("I am resting up for LakeFest") and can
more easily justify coming out to help. Please let me know if you are
volunteering BEFORE race day so I'll have some anticipation of what our
race day staff will be and can plan everybody's roles.

Contact me in person, via email, or by phone (277-0495) to sign up to help.

There are at least a few people who are still due their entry
reimbursements from Corning. Let me know and I'll fork over the cash.
