Hello FLCCers,
I think I said I wouldn't do this again, but I lied. Here is the family
bike email, about our ride tomorrow. The kind of ride we're doing
tomorrow is also a great opp for adults new or renewed to cycling. And
we're ending at Flat Rock for a swim, for those interested.
As always, to sign up for family ride (usually weekly)
messages/announcements, go to

Hello families,
Tomorrow's weather should be perfect. We'll be doing ride type B (see below), adult powered or experienced youth/teen powered (10 mph or so, depending on the preferences of those who come).
Our family is planning to end at flat rock, on the Cornell Plantations, for a dip/wade in the creek. If you'd like to join us, come prepared, whatever that might mean for you (we just wear our bike stuff, but bring snacks and suits for the babes/kids).
See you tomorrow at 10! (Sorry for the late notice - Felix and I have been sick so weren't sure we were going to be well enough to do it.)

> East Hill family rides start at 10:00am on Sundays, on the East Hill Rec
> Way near French Lavender on 903 Mitchell Street (across from Cornell's
> Maple Apartments grad housing complex). Please always feel free to
> announce if and when you are going on a family ride, e.g., in Cass Park
> or on another recreation way, on this list! Kids love to bike together.
>
> Ride types, rotating over every three weeks:
> A) 6-7 year olds or older power their own way for most or all of the ride on a
> mostly off-street loop and adults powered for little ones. Our current
> loop is about 5-6 miles. (That might sound far but my 7 year old
> neighbor who had never been off the playground did it easily, and it's
> easy to cut 2 miles from it and be back at the start in a few minutes.)
>
> B) Adult powered, faster, longer rides, with tandems/triples/trailers,
> and teens, or experienced pre-teens. These are on the road, mainly,
> though as low traffic as possible.
>
> C) Kids, including very little ones (like my 3-year-old), riding their
> own bikes. This is just along the flat upper bit of east hill rec path,
> so people can go their own speed and do almost 2 miles up and back, or
> more if they are faster. (Adults could walk/jog, though bikes might be
> more comfortable since even small ones can ride reasonably fast.)
