Some new faces showed up this Saturday at 9am to head out for a 30 mile womens ride. Kelly, Sarah and I got to ride with Joan, Linney, Anna and 6 mo old Aidan. OK, so we allowed a boy to join in as long as he didn't say anything. He was rather cooperative, in fact the girly conversations put him right to sleep.
Joan was the most styling of the gals sporting her velo bella jersey with matching helmet and bicycle.. quite the site. Linny had the most fashionable bike shoes and cutest bike but was all about learning bike handling technique from the moment we left the parking lot. Great enthusiasm. Anna, our professional dancer who doesn't get on the bike much dusted us all on the big hill and I really thought she was sprinting up to help Kelly push Aidan and Sarah over the top. I think I might take up dancing after watching that. Sign me up! And of course Kelly, the "animal" was able to push Aidan and Sarah while also climbing. She's the best.
The weather was perfect and with a little wind in our face I got to work on Aidans draftiing technique. I tucked in righ behind him on the flats and told him who to pass and he did really well. We had a great ride and hope more riders will join us next time. Sorry, we never got around to the subject of white bike shorts on men. We'll resolve that issue next ride.
Ciao bella,
LiLynn
