just a note here: the fatigue noted in article is related to
dysfunction of calcium ion channels in skeletal muscle, and not due a
shortage of calcium in the body. so eating more calcium wont
increase endurance. although not mentioned in the article, calcium
ion channel dysfunction may also be a cause of cramps during heavy
exertion after a long day in the saddle.
