Subject: FLCC> Tuesday nights

In case Misty does not boldly go where few women have gone before...

Traditionally Tuesday night rides begin the first Tuesday after daylight
savings time in the spring. Alas, the Federal Government stepped in (talk
about big government interfering with the private lives of its citizens !)
and changed DST. So the secondary logic behind the original timing was that
it stayed light long enough, and the odds of decent weather improved enough
to start meeting the first Tuesday in April.

So..........

If you show up at the HSBC/Rite-Aid parking lot a little before 6:00PM on
Tuesday April 1, it is highly likely that there will be a significant
number of cyclists there to participate in the first Tuesday night ride of
the year.

As Don pointed out, the first Month of Tuesdays is focused on gently
supporting and educating newcomers, and refining the group riding skills of
some of the old-comers in preparation for the actual racing season which
starts in May. So I strongly encourage all interested riders to come out
sooner rather than later, so that you build fitness and skills early, and I
encourage the more experienced riders to come out and share your knowledge
and enthusiasm with the newer folks. We break up into smaller groups of
similar abilities and focus on skills work, so nobody should be intimidated
- Come on out !

Glenn Swan
