During this year's Memorial Day Weekend, May 24-26, the FLCC is having a
cycling weekend at the St. Lawrence River -- three days of rides out and
back from the Tibbet's Point Lighthouse Hostel near Cape Vincent. We
will email and post particulars about it in the next few days.
During the same weekend, there is another ride put on by Charles Hansen,
a Boston-area cyclist who has been doing tours in the Northeast for
years and years. Several FLCC members have taken his tours and rated
them very highly. This year, Hansen's "Memorial Day Dash to Montreal"
(MDDM) needs a couple more participants, and he asked me to post info on
the FLCC list for him. I'm sure this will be a memorably great ride for
strong riders who like to pedal hard and eat well.

MDDM 2008 - 24th Annual Memorial Day Dash to Montreal
May 22-26, 2008
Join us for the 24th running of a classic international bicycle tour.
Thursday night we stay at a motel in Colchester, Vermont, just north of
Burlington. Friday morning we drive to Gordon Landing in the Lake
Champlain Islands. Park cars, put gear in sag van, and cycle north
through the beautiful Lake Champlain Islands ~75 absolutely flat miles
to Montreal, where we stay at the downtown Youth Hostel in 2-person
rooms with private bath. Saturday & Sunday are free days with many
options - cycling, cultural and otherwise. Monday ride ~75 miles back
to the cars on the New York side of Lake Champlain, ending with a short
ferry ride. Although there are no hills, this can be a tough ride due
to strong headwinds! $250 trip fee includes 4 nights lodging (2 per
room), 4 meals, sag support, tour T-shirt, tour water bottle, happy hour
and extensive tour literature. Contact for more info or to register.
Please NOTE that a passport or state-certified birth certificate is
required in 2008. This is a Rogue Riders Bike Club trip. Leader:
