We'll be discussing a whole host of items including: the cycling
routes, group food options, housing/camping arrangements, carpooling,
recommended bike setup, and any other questions you might have about
the 5 overnight tours that the FLCC Touring Group is organizing for
this spring and summer. As a quick summary for those who haven't
heard: We have trips planned for Cape Vincent over the Memorial Day
weekend, two weekend trips of Finger Lakes touring and camping in
June and July, a week-long trip from Washington, DC to Pittsburgh via
the C&O canal trails in July, and an August loop tour around Lake
Champlain.
We'd like to tailor these tours to our group's interests so try to
come to this General Interest/Organizational Meeting and give us your
input. (Of course you are welcome to make suggestions directly via
e-mail or the listserv if you can't attend the meeting. We'll also
post highlights from the meeting at the club website:
flcycling.org/touringgroup ).
Consider bringing your bike to the meeting so that we can give you
specific advice about the suitability of your bike for any of the
tours. For example, we can suggest how best to mount a rear rack,
and the type of packs or panniers that would work out well on your
bike. Not all of the tours require a bike with racks and packs --
see the website for more details and/or come to the meeting this
Friday to find out more.
