OK, ride tomorrow 9:00 AM starts at Mecklenburg
Park and ride. Early season reasonable pace.
Possible scenario: South toward HorseHeads West on
Johnson Hollow looping down to Montour Falls back
to Meck in some round about way. Open to other
suggestions. Emanuel has offered to host post
ride festivities. BYOB. Hope to see you there.

Mark

By the way, Mark, we are counting on you to be
there to act as our local "just another wonderful
ride" guide. Let us know if you are successful in
pressuring Emanuel and Holly into hosting an
unplanned and impromptu get together. In the
meantime we'll plan on the Grist Mill post ride.

OK. Mecklenburg Park and Ride 9AM. I take it
the Mectapus is the intersection of 228 and 79 and
CR 6.

Grist Mill Cafe in Burdett is open until 3PM
according to phone message, and the food is good,
worth the extra the little drive at the end for
the Ithacans. Beer drinkers will have to byob. I
will have a few cans of the black, Irish stuff.

Mecklenburg is half way between Watkins and
Ithaca on Rt 79. Its so small that you can't miss
the Park and ride which is on one of the spokes of
the Mectapus (its a 5 way intersection). I've got
to work after the ride so I suggest the cafe in
Burdett post ride...or we can con Emanuel Cestero
into hosting post ride festivities. Ruth thinks
she is under pressure, but its just another
wonderful ride.

I've got a pot roast, ready for eating.
Will feed at least eight. If you can provide an
oven to heat it and warmth and shelter for the
post ride, and can get a commitment from Don on
the beer, maybe we've got a go for the Meklenburg
par and ride. But you've got to tell us where it
is.

Since Ruth is on the fence...Ride
tomorrow morning 9:00 AM meeting at the
Mecklenburg Park and Ride. Covenient to all
points considered. Ruth is the ride leader. Don
is bringing a keg. Bill Lodico is bringing his
barbecue grill. We'll ride early and beat the
rain.

            Another option would be Blaine's
house - kind of in between Elmira and Ithaca.
Plenty of beer and good food there :-)

You win, Ruth, after brief consult
with Blaine.

Cost of winning is that you have to
be the ride leader and pick a good route.

Only condition is that finish must
be near good food and good beer.

9 AM start gets us in before
promised chance of rain. Tell us where to meet.

rain is promising to arrive in
small increments starting about 1pm
                    Saturday. Pace (for me and
several likely participants) likely to be
                    determinedly not-so-fast, but
with plenty of hills)

My inclination is to aim for
something in the 40 to 50 mile range
                    starting around 9PM.

                    Elmira, Ithaca, or Watkins
start OK from my point of view.

                    Thoughts?
