FLCC> Cayuga Lake Ride Record?

At Cameron's prodding, here's my note to him about Jim Black:

The record was probably set by Jim Black around 1981-82. I recall a
time well under 4 hours. Jim owned Blackstar Bicycles in Ithaca in
the late 70s-early 80s and made an unsuccessful attempt in 1981 to
break the transcontinental record of 14 days.

I also recall that Jim organized weekly time trials in the early 80s
starting at EHP, going out Ellis Hollow Rd to Ellis Hollow Creek, and
then back on Genung. He was an extraordinary rider but perhaps
somewhat less talented as a businessman. I once went to his shop to
buy the new Sun Tour index shifters, but he kindly explained that
shifting was all in the fingertips and no self-respecting cyclist
would ever use index shifting. Anyone else remember him?
